Its the second and final day of shooting.
We went to a nice park out of the city center of budapest. It was a nice location (although the wine farm will be the most perfect choice). Bianka started to get ready and me and others discussing about the various shots to make.
Bianka this time was less interested in the production. She was rushing everyone to finish her part a.s.a.p as she has other meetings to go (which was not told by the team members the day before)...Annoying and irritated, i just did what i could do without doing it properly. Good thing that the actor was more cooperative so we did more shots of him and also lots of extra shots as well.
During the shooting, we had a little conflict about not following strictly to the storyboard. I told them that the storyline is still the same but the actions will be different as circumstances changes as well. Although we kinda resolve the issue, it was still unsatisfiable feeling in the air. Other than that, everything went well. I also let the others to try to shoot shots of their own since they didnt have the chance to do any shooting during the whole production. They seemed to be pleased with that.

Production Day 1
So, as i have noted in my last post, everything is confirmed only at the last day.
The first day will only be an indoor shootings, which will take place in Adel's place. Initially it was suppose to be in Katinka's but somehow it doesnt suit to the timings that we planned. I was only told on THE day that Bianka's father was working in a wine company in Eger. It will be so great and easy to use her father's company for the outdoor shooting IF ONLY she told me much much earlier, where we have already thought about. Nevertheless, we can't reverse back the time so we have to make what we have and fully utilised it and be most productive.
The meeting was at 6pm and, as usual, punctuality is an issue for everyone to be on time. Once we reached Adel's place, we quickly get into action and set up the area. Oksana has volunteered to be in-charge of the lightings (which she's doing very well and cooperatively). I myself started to set-up the camera and tripod, while Bianka getting dressed and Zsuzsi is basically coordinating the whole production and making sure everything goes well.
Before we started the first shooting, we had a little briefing on the things we need to shoot and agree upon so that everyone is in the same page and frequency. This is important for both myself and the team as it will saves a lot of time on any conflicts and misunderstandings during the making of the video.
Thanks to Adobe Onlocation, i can use my macbook as a field monitor for the rest to view. It was a great help both for all of us as we all can agree upon the framing that we wanted. I observed as well that each of us prefers different kind of styles and framing, but we quickly decided on the best one and we work quickly in this way. However, not all shots were previewed first as it took too much time to move around with the camera and laptop attached together. In this case, they trusted my photographing technique.
Mate, the one who is playing the actor role, was very friendly and supportive and patient throughout the whole shooting. This makes us, especially me, very easy to work with him and also to guide and directed him. Where time is always against us, we have to get as much shots as we can in the limited time. I can say that we are very productive on the first day.
Post-Production Pt.2
At this stage, the storyboard is pretty much fixed, except now we have to settle other things.
1) Casts: Bianka is confirmed to play as the actress role. We need to find an actor now. Zsuzsi has voluntarily taking this in-charge. Bianka also making sure that costumes are suited for the video as well.
2) Equipments: I will be taking care most of the equipment, except the lightings where Oksana will handle it. Most probably we will just use one-light for this production. I'm still in a fix whether to shot it in HD, as it all depends on how much time i have and how complicated the editing stage will be. Most likely its gonna be SD. Depending on the framing and lenses to use, the number of equipment that i will be affected as well. I sense a big weight behind my back now..
3)Location: Everybody is basically trying hard to find a good location to suit the story. Best will be a wine farm. However that takes a deal of journey. So logistics is an issue here, mainly the transportation. Also, the timing as well (which is always the biggest problem of all).
I forecast that everything will only be confirmed in the last minute. Rest assured. ;P

Video Production 2
We had our first meeting and we discussed a lot things which gives us a leading direction to a great video!
After the storyboard is finalize, we will immediately fix the locations, actors, props, and technical equipment.
Also, i really need to decide whether to use HD or DV format, all depending on the usability of pinnacle with HD....

Back in blogging..
It's been a while i updated this blog since returning back home.
Got back the marks for first assignment. Was expected that so was easier to move on you know what i mean. It's a learning lesson to reflect upon and to learn from mistakes. :)
I will be going all out with the next production. I hope i can impress the judges!

5th Week
We go deeply in how MTV is viewed now, and how relevant it is for the success of the music.
For me, music video nowadays are created only when the song gets the top song charts. Which means that it is a showcase for that particular popular track. And by viewing the music video, not only you get to see what the artists is trying to deliver through his music, as well as the art direction of the video as well. For example, the music video "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley showcasing a fresh new style and one-of-a-kind of music video. This resulted not only making the music even popular than it ever is, but also attract new audiences who are interested in the visual aspect of music video making.
Assignment: Still have not reached the production level yet. However, we have agreed to shoot it this weekend and the location that Emese found. This time i will let Emese and Meerim do the major part of the work, as not only i will be fully occupied before going back home (Yay!) but also to see the potential and creativity of their ideas. Hopefully in this way, i can get to understand their ideas and style better to fit in with mine, thus working better in the next assignment.
Peace out.

4th Week
Dr Phil was kind enough to guide us to the ways into getting our music video production a headstart.
As much as i want to believe in Emese's storyboard, i'm having a difficult time as well. We are still stuck on it and likelihood we will change the whole storyboard.
Time waits for no man. i'm going back home in 2 weeks time.
3rd Week
We learnt few theories behind music video production, and mostly we talked about different genre and styles that's happening in music video.
Although we probably know how the style for each genre goes, it's interesting to explore it even further.

2nd Week.
I was 30 mins late. And "fortunately" the class ended right when i reached the class.
Nevertheless, it was suppose to be the week to continue with our assignment (which we still have not done anything yet...i blame the shitty weather)
BUT, we will definitely be doing it anyhow, till the last nano-seconds! ;)

1st Week.
Was pretty fine start.
Dr. Phil exposes us to the different types of music genre and their videos and how are they can relate to each other.
We were also tasked to create a practice assignment. As always, it will be fun and all.
